Invest in ICAAD, Invest in Innovation:
Part II – Measurable Impact and Partnerships
As the end of 2012 nears, we at ICAAD believe we have a duty to show the social impact of our contributor’s donations in a measurable way. We view our donors as more than supporters; we see them as our investors. This social return on investment (SORI) information is clearly transparent and accessible as a central feature of our website (icaadglobal.org).
At a glance, you are able to see how many discriminatory policies we have identified world wide that are potential issues for advocacy or litigation, how many pro bono (legal services provided free of cost) hours we are generating from our partnerships and their value, and how many projects are underway.
In 2012, attorneys donated over 500 hours of pro bono work during a six month period, amounting to over $230,000 in services.
Many of those hours were spent working on a high profile discrimination case we successfully settled against the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) and on research regarding the systemic flaws in documenting and coding of hate crimes.
Our budget for the first year was under $150,000. The value of our partnerships alone has exceeded our budget this year and is projected to be over $450,000 for next year. Therefore, ICAAD partnership projects provide services that will amount to $3 of return for every $1 donated, in essence, tripling your social return on investment (SROI). This does not include any of the time and resources that ICAAD attorneys, Advisors, and Board Members spend on projects.
Join the movement and invest in equality for all.
