ICAAD submitted this stakeholder report ahead of Grenada’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in the 49th session.

Despite Grenada’s commitments during the third UPR cycle, progress on critical human rights issues remains limited. This report focuses on these persistent challenges, especially in the areas of gender-based violence (GBV) and discrimination, while offering concrete recommendations for legal and policy reforms.

The report draws on various sources, including ICAAD’s 28 interviews with key stakeholders in Grenada during in-country visits in September 2022 and March 2023 and supplemented by news reports from reputable media outlets and state reports to treaty bodies.

The report is also based on ICAAD’s TrackGBV program and ICAAD’s Strategic Assessment of Grenada as a part of the European Union’s Spotlight Initiative.
