The report follows the stories of six Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) living in the exploitative tea plantations of India’s Assam and marginalised urban slums of Delhi. This report documents their struggles for justice and highlights the risks they face. It discusses security strategies to empower the WHRDs to continue their work. The report adds to the existing literature documenting the assault on human rights defenders across the globe, bringing out perspectives of WHRDs working to ensure access to socioeconomic rights in India.
